Blackpool’s Matty Askin ended 2010 on a high with his 9th professional win as he stopped Mitchell Balker inside three rounds at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
The cruiserweight prospect was genuinely tested in the opening two rounds as Balker, who won the Golden Gloves in America, unleashed some big shots. But after Askin connected to send Balker down for an eight count in the third , he then moved in to finish the job in comprehensive fashion.
