Hatton Promotions prospect Matty Askin is determined he won’t come unstuck in his battle against fellow unbeaten fighter Mitchell Balker.
Their cruiserweight battle takes place on Hatton Promotions triple title bill at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on Friday November 26.
Blackpool’s former ABA champion is unbeaten in eight fights, while his Dutch rival has won all three contests.
Askin said: “If I just keep producing the goods and keep going I will be able to come through this test.”
Askin was taken the distance in his last fight by John Anthony following one round blowouts of Matthew Ellis and Lee Kellett.
And veteran trainer Brian Hughes will demand he keeps his discipline against Balker following the ill-tempered clash Anthony clash.
Askin added: “I have got to make sure I don’t get in that predicament again and there was stuff to work on after that fight.
“Brian is never impressed at that sort of thing, but I was just frustrated with myself and my opponent didn’t want to open up.
“I learn from it and Anthony gave me six rounds where I had to think about things after I had been blowing people over.”
Suriname born Balker, 26 turned professional in September 2009, and last fought in May when he stopped Hassan El Mourabet in three rounds.
Heading the impressive Bolton card which will be televised by Sky Sports is Matthew Hatton’s second European welterweight championship defence, against undefeated Swiss fighter Roberto Belge.
