2nd KO Win for Matty

All the hard training has paid off for Matty as he secures his 4th Win with a Round 1 KO

Matty Askin - KO in Round 1 - Hatton Promotions

From the Blackpool Gazette:
Matty Askin scored a sensational, 49-second win in his latest fight – but in the process ruined his Christmas!
No sooner had he demolished Bobby Scott on a bill at Robin Park, Wigan than he was told that birthday and festive celebrations had to be put on hold.

Askin explained: “As I was leaving the ring, they told me that I would have to lay off the turkey and everything else this year because the promoters want me to fight again on January 15.

“It’s my 21st birthday on Christmas Eve!”

However, Askin had every reason to celebrate as he made fast work of Scott.

He had his rival for a count of eight with a fierce right hand.
Pain

Scott got to his feet only to be met with a right-hook, an uppercut and a left, which made the referee move in to end the Londoner’s pain and misery.

Askin, still with a 100 per cent record, was elated at a job so swiftly executed.

“I felt so good going into the ring – what surprised me was how light I was at 13st 4lb. I thought I would be heavier than that and I was giving away a stone.

“I had put a lot of work and effort into this fight and it paid off.”

He added: “I missed with a wild punch at the start of the fight, and I could hear Ricky Hatton shouting from the ringside telling me to box right and I listened to what he had to say.”
